The Dark and the Light
An exhibition at the Richmond, London gallery - One Paved Court.
My work explores and responds to a disturbing emotional tug generated by the everyday traumas that we all hear, see and live through, a constant unknown hinterland at the periphery of all our minds.
The fragility of human existence the dark and the light sides are an ongoing interest. Recent work focused on memories and dreams stitched and embedded into our very being how they inform our adult minds and the way we go on to live and how we treat others. The hangings are made from a gauze like material in three layers measuring approx 2.5 x 1 metre with imagery stitched, painted and pasted on to create an illusory falling landscape. A series of heads are included in the exhibition as well as past works reflecting memories, dreams and vulnerabiltiy.
